Prefabrication

Tight Line Construction has invested in 10,000 SF warehouse space in New Bedford, MA to utilize for the purpose of prefabrication and advanced delivery.  In addition to our prefabrication capacity, Tight Line’s philosophy is to partner with key suppliers and manufacturers to prefabricate assemblies whenever and however possible.  Examples of successful prefabrication put in place include complex exterior parapets & “oculus” walls with cold-formed metal framing, a twenty four foot high vaulted ceiling with curved framing, and exterior millwork facades with prefabricated Azek assemblies.

BIM

Tight Line Construction believes in and values the power of BIM.  By utilizing 3D modeling in collaboration with other trades and services, we enable clash detection and increased efficiencies during the course of construction. BIM also provides a powerful tool for Owners in the utilization of the model after construction is complete.

Lean Construction

Lean Construction is recognized at Tight Line as a powerful methodology to reduce waste and rework through the power of collaboration and Lean Principles. TLC Foremen and Project Managers are trained in “Last Planner System” and “Pull Planning”. Our project teams utilize just-in-time delivery to optimize space and create safety on the site. After every project we perform a Plus/Delta meeting to record which Lean Principles we were successfully able to incorporate on the project. In this manner we can bring previously proven successful Lean tactics onto our next project.

Cloud Technology

Cloud technology has provided the industry with a revolution in which TLC proudly participates. All Tight Line Field Managers are equipped with either Apple iPads or Microsoft Surface Pros. Our Project Managers are well versed in the multitude of cloud based document management softwares utilized in the industry. Even our job costing and payroll has become cloud based. Using cloud technology we have brought new levels of efficiency to every level in the organization.
